Harold the giraffe

On the 11th April 2024 we went to go see Harold the Giraffe. What we got taught was basic needs and how our body works. what I learnt was whenever we are hype running and jumping because it means our heart is pumping blood super fast. What I also learnt was that our lungs have these blood pressure things that look like branches and they look like sticks because we breathe from trees and water. I also learnt basic needs witch is exercise ,food ,shelter ,washing and sleep. Theirs also one lung bigger than the other because the heart needs to fit and did you know that when you put 2 hands together it is the size of your brain and also if you hold one hand into a fist that is the size of your heart.

Action station

Today we had another action station. Something I liked about it was creating weapons and something i didn’t like was people interrupting. Something that I learnt was teaching others and helping others. Something that i didn’t understand was the hard folds and how we can’t get on YouTube cause they were blocked from YouTube for school children’s safety. Today is the last day of origami  and the next term where going to be doing something else. And what I’m going to be doing is kio rahi.

Beach ed

On February the 20th 2024 Tuesday  we went on a trip to the beach.  What we did was learn about being safe in the water and having fun in the water.  After that we went upstairs and they demonstrated who they were. After they took us outside then down stairs first they took two different groups. One was a kayak boat and the other boat was a  big inflatable boat it was for saving. Then what we saw in the boat was a life jacket and a knife. The knife was for cutting plastic of the wild marines and for killing them but they would chuck in in the bin. Then I saw 3 handles. The one at the back was the lifesaver and then in the middle was another life saver and at the front was a person. Next we went up stairs then we saw 2 med kits. What I saw in the little med kit was blue gloves and plasters. In the big med kit was an oxygen tank and some oxygen things so we could breathe. After we saw all that stuff we saw an orange bed for broken spines and then there was a red pillow for laying. After that we had morning tea then after that we did water safety. Water safety was learning how to be safe and having your hand up high. After that we did scenarios about water safety but then we didn’t have time so we didn’t do enough work. Then we played a game called captain’s crew and tag. It wasn’t a normal tag, it was a tag game when someone has to crawl on their legs. After we had lunch then swim time there were two different groups so i was in the first group and we went in we also jumped in and went out deep out in the deep was shallow. When we started she taught us to dive under the waves and go the other way. But I jumped over. There was also this massive wave that hit us. We were underwater and then we went home.

Mahi this week

Feb 16, 2024

This week I have learnt how to make my writing look better. I really enjoyed the part where having doodle books so we could draw and write the story about Porangi boy.I did not understand the part where we were doing persuasive writing with arguments 1, 2 and 3. I think this will help me get better at doing great handwriting and better at getting better at making a sentence.
